General Response for Fixing Spreadsheets
The general topic of identifying issues and making the fix is pretty broad, and there's a lot of variation to deal with here. But in general here's the ideal format for when you've made some corrections and completed the upload for a client. You'll want to tweak this as appropriate, of course.
Hello [FIRSTNAME],
Thank you for your email, I am happy to assist.
I have looked at your statements and made a minor change to get them into a better format for you. I have completed your upload and you are now ready to start reviewing your financial performance using CFO Scoreboard!! The modified version of your document is attached for you to review. Please have a glance when you can and note the changes I made.
...................................
CFO Scoreboard has artificial intelligence which estimates the classification of your chart of accounts when you upload. We are 98-100% accurate but in order to be certain, you or your accountant should view that classification page and double check that all accounts are classified properly.
You can view the classification page by doing the following:
- Click on your name at the top right hand corner and select Settings
- Click on the Companies tab on the left
- In the "-Actions-" bar next to the company's name, select Classify Accounts
You can return to these pages as often as is needed! Just remember to save your changes at the bottom of the screen.
If there's anything else I can assist you with please let me know.
Obviously the structure of this will need to be adjusted on a case by case basis. But the three components to always include are:
- Complete the upload for them if possible
- Explain the changes that you made
- Attach the modified versions for their review
